• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Galbraith or O'Brien

I wasn't able to watch the match last night, but how did they do compared to each other? Would we have preferred to keep O'Brien ..or are we happier with Galbraith. Academic I know, but just curious is all. Though I know that one match doesn't tell a season's story

The absolute minimum in the Premier League..not 40 but...

..12 points. And Wolves have done it. Relegation is one thing .. but getting only 10 points or less is a total disaster. Derby's unwanted record must be soul destroying for their fans. Each year they pray for a Wolves or Southampton. When we next get there, 12 is the first target - then 36 (...

    Burnley 100 points...

...to gain promotion last season, yet are now almost certainly doomed to an immediate relegation return. 100 points !!😯 - a mind boggling tally which you would assume might give a reasonable chance up there. Nope. I guess Premier League money is the major benefit, but makes you think is that...

    Cullen

We've talked about the nonsense from the Latinos Franco and Ronald - but Cullen clutching his face with a triple roll on the ground after a push in his chest, was way OTT. And he's supposed to be one of our own 👎

    Cardiff v Swansea brawl

BBC News - Uni rugby match abandoned after almost 30 players brawl on pitch https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gwyzxg90vo 😂😂.

What are our realistic ambitions ?

Let's be positive and negative. Say we scraped into 6th spot. And scraped a play off win 😀 I'd dread the Prem tbh. 😞 Though if we could get more than Derby or Wolves points I'd take it 😃 Seriously though, is the Prem a realistic ambition these days for a Club our size/income - and also given...

A Panenka .. is it worth it ?

Interesting article below in the wake of the Diaz miss. Also includes a lot of insight into penalty taking by our very own Lee Trundle. For me, if you're going down the middle - smash it. A Panenka when it goes in is great, but still show-offy for me. Not worth the risk unless you're at least...

What are we really expecting from Matos....

..with the current squad. To be fair he's changing the culture but surely there's only so much he can do with the current players at his disposal ? A few on here recently were eyeing the play offs 🤔. No way without some better quality in, and mediocre/poor out. Gonna have to wait for the...

Some questions after tonight's game ...

Another three points is a great result. The euphoria of a 90th minute winner is also fantastic. While I wasn't able to be there tonight, I'd be interested in some reactions. If the match had ended 1-1, and their goalkeeper hadn't made two howlers, what would have been your view on the game...

Best of both worlds for me this afternoon - and congrats to Vitor: is he changing the culture ?

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely delighted we won today. But I had a stress-free and frustrated-free afternoon for a change, as I'm on a self imposed sabbatical from the Stadium till after Christmas - as I could no longer bear the sideways etc "style" of football and lack of commitment/...

We're in a relegation battle - pros and cons of booing the players

Hopefully one or two additions may come in the January transfer market. But let's not assume that - or that they will be any good. But before and after then, we are likely stuck with what we've got in terms of the Manager and the players. So is there any point in booing the players if we are...

I'm falling out of love with football....

There, I've said it out loud. Not just the Swans, but I rarely look forward to Match of the Day either. It's a bit like Rugby which once I used to enjoy (a little bit 😊). The flair went with the likes of Shane Williams etc. I went with a rugby mate once to watch the Ospreys. Seeing a game...

Worst start to a season since the Premier League 😯

I just read this in Wales Online : "Sheehan has overseen Swansea City's worst start to a league campaign since they were relegated from the Premier League, and after a summer full of hope and optimism, there's a growing feeling City's season is in real danger of fizzling out" Is that a fact ...

My admiration for our fans who travel away.. but why do you do it these days ?

So, while I'm a long time fan, I'm primarily a regular home fan with occasional trips away. For the Cooper, Martin, Duff, Williams, and now Sheehan timescale I've been increasingly bored and frustrated. So what I'd like to understand is the mindset of our fans who, apart from attending home...

There's a trend here we have to break for the future

Luke Williams was assistant to Russell Martin Alan Sheehan was assistant to Michael Duff No more promoting those who have been assistants to crap Managers. The cycle needs to be broken

Alan Sheehan Remains the Right Man to Lead Swansea City Forward

There being no amusement whatsoever this afternoon, I needed to obtain solace from somewhere so I had a "Chat" with you-know-who ...and as can often be the case, an alternate view has emerged to soften our pain and anger. Till the next time 🤔 Despite a tough 4–1 defeat to Ipswich Town, it’s...

If Sheehan and the team are getting nowhere ...

..then so are we as fans 😂 In just the past week, we've had all these threads - "Sheehan doesn't know what he's doing; Are we doing ok or underachieving; Our attacking intent; Sheehan does have a plan; Swansea fans lose faith with Sheehan; Poll - Sheehan in or out ; Ten games in too soon to...

15 yrs and playing in the Champions League 😯

It's unbelievable how a boy of 15 can have the maturity to play in the Champions League and Premier League. When I think back to me playing for the local football team at that age 😂 But by God they have to be careful with Max in that professional environment, and he needs to be mentored by...

Alan Sheehan has a Plan for Swansea and fans are sticking with him despite recent mixed form

To balance out the top sticky, here’s an alternative view 😊 We have a nuanced situation regarding Sheehan’s Plan that many fans are picking up on, and why they are, for now, sticking with him based on his apparent pragmatic approach. The Pragmatic Foundation 1. Results over Performance: There...
