• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

    Maybe I never appreciated

I have spent a good hour today reading the threads about the closure of the site and I have to say I am overwhelmed by just what this site meant to everyone. I never intended to run a website - I kind of stumbled into it ironically on a mailing list for Glamorgan where I was approached by...

    The Last Day

I do feel more than a tinge of sadness this morning as it reflects the fact that after 25 years of my life, today will bring the curtain down on the good ship Jackrmy.net. We have been there through the good times, the bad times and the in between times. We were there on the day we all prayed...

    Posters of the past

I'm not going to offend anyone I hope here but there are a few names of the past I want to think of as we head into the final few days of the forum Starting with the people who these boards are named after Lord Bony - I will never forget the way he stood up to his illness, if that ever hits me...

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

THe matchday threads on here have always been a huge part - the volume of posts, the frequency during the match itself and the views on each of them tell their own story. The work that went into them was never underestimated and always appreciated.

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

It's funny how life gets in the way somehow. When I confirmed the site closing on 22nd April, I had full intention of a few reflective articles over the past month that looked back on some memorable moments on the site (and with the Swans in general) - circumstance (nothing bad) has meant that...

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

My lack of replies to this thread tells you much about why i have decided to call it quits now but since i made the announcement i have been snowed under with everything else i have on my plate. i think though i have eventually replied to all the messages i have had via the channels we use. the...

    Colours Nailed and all that

All I’d say is that when you go into a game without your only real goal threat and you fall a goal behind inside three minutes it’s no surprise that you struggle

I would be more worried if the players needed the Snoop circus to become motivated personally

Pretty much in line with most of our recruitment? Bang average players. Which is OK really as we are a bang average team

Dreadful to watch and the only thing that makes it worse is the dreadful commentary provided by Swans TV Oh wait we have Jacks at home coming up - stale shit. Not every game can be a circus...

When you say retirement date are you referring to state pension age ?

    Financial Advice

Again, everything is personal choice but the fear of having enough to get through retirement is often an overstated amount of money. At some stage the state pension kicks in (depending on your age) and if you have a private pension its possible to draw more money in the early days and reduce it...

    Financial Advice

The older you get your risk appetite will largely reduce particularly as your capacity for loss also reduces. As a 30 year old a 10% market drop is manageable as the markets will largely recover over time. If that happens five years before retirement the bounce back may not be as effective...
