• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I don’t know if it was announced on here but Drunken Baker passed away either last year or the year before 😢

Your First Ever Game At The Vetch !?

Swans vs Bradford City in the old 4th division under Harry. We were 1-0 up and the match was abandoned either for floodlight failure air weather can’t remember but it was both madly exciting and an anticlimax rolled into one. I know Bradford were near the top and we were close to the promotion...

    The night The Liberty rocked

Brendan had a certain kind of magical aura around him - it was in the stars for us that season but he built on the groundwork of Martinez, Sousa and of course Kenny Jackett. The night the Liberty stadium truly became “home”.

Profit and Sustainability - is dead and replaced

Wrexham might have a big sponsorship deal with United but they have other revenue streams so maybe won’t affect them . Won’t affect Cardiff either as they’re already playing a team of ex academy players mostly. It does mean that we should really be promoting some of our gems in the U21’s - I saw...

    Jairo Riedewald

If last season tells us anything it’s that we need a good ball playing CB - which may allow us to play 3-5-2. Our wingers fail to deliver on a game by game basis so why not push key and Tymon further forward and pack the MF. I would consider Galbraith a CDM too by the way.

Yeah - does this mean every club who send their coaching staff to their next opponents games can be punished too?

    Kevin Filling

If we sign him could we nickname him “the dentist” if he develops the habit of “drilling the ball home”? No? Oh ok

    Ronald

I’ve said that maybe 3-5-2 is the way to go and have wing backs instead of wingers. This current model doesnt create enough chances. Remember how Laudrups played Wayne Routledge through the middle and that coincided with some of the greatest football the swans have ever played?

    Ronald

I think you hit the nail squarely on the head there. Also Woodward being a local boy being very grateful and proud to get a first team game played with heart. Ronald doesn’t have the same motivation. I’d much rather the likes of TW come through the ranks and try their hardest even if sometimes...

    Zan Vipotnik

Are defensive midfield players (often played at right back) supposed to score a lot of goals?

    Ronald

I wasn’t aware of that. I only wished I’d have been there to see it. Takes a lot of balls to stick up to a narcissist- well done Morgan Whittaker.

If Real Madrid were linked that’s reason enough to get an agent

    Zan Vipotnik

The quality of ball for each of Idah’s goals must have given Vipotnik some real optimism for next season. Controversial from me but I think if we could get 15-20 million for Galbraith I’d rather him leave than Vip. He’s a great player but I’d like to see another skilful but bigger unit at CDM...

    The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 3 Charlton Athletic 1 | Att: 19,245 | Saturday 2nd May 2026 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

When I watched the U21’s against Newcastle I honestly thought Woodward should be playing in the senior side and possibly McKenzie and a couple of others. I’d like to see Cullen and Ronald moved on and new blood either brought in or through from the age groups. At least Matos brought Woodward on...

I reckon Tan will think the team would do well in the championship as it is and not invest. They might get relegated before Easter.

    Our centre backs

Some of the passing and movement at Wrexham was sublime but stupid mistakes cost us the game - if we can get that play in the majority of our games we could be in the playoffs mix. Matos is definitely a big upgrade on what we had before and he’s still learning his trade. A big plus for me...

    Our centre backs

But we had the meanest defence we have had for years and made the top six twice?

    Our centre backs

As I just said in the match day thread he hasn’t had a minute off this season. Fatigue must be playing a part on both players as Cabango has only missed one game. That’s a bad look on our recruitment side
