    Relegation? Should We Be Worried?

Please come back after the next 2 results. I don't have any argument, I'd just be interested.

    Relegation? Should We Be Worried?

We shouldn't be betting our future on an unknown, untried foreign manager but that argument is over. Sheffield Utd and Norwich will both get their acts together so for the first time I think that we're in a relegation fight.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

And what does worry me is that no-one is strongly defending him.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

He has the grooming style of Russell Martin and about the same record as Alan Sheehan, who was managing in a more difficult league. I'm genuinely puzzled by this.

To Muteswan. Are bees knees especially pretty / tasty? What lunatic came up with that expression? Do bees even have knees?

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Really hope so, umm how well had Alan Sheehan done after 12 games?

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

I'm not talking about all of the managers in League 1, I'm talking about the current top two, who would both fit in well.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

I'd still look at the British managers whose teams are currently 1 and 2 in league one.

Is Vitor Matos the Right Fit for Swansea City? The Case for Patience

It didn't smell of AI to me though. I'm sure Phil used AI so it read more smoothly but it wasn't any more than that, because there weren't any 'triplets' in it. AI loves, loves, loves triplets and uses them excessively (lists of three, e.g. blood, sweat and tears / faith, hope and charity)...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Relegation isn't 'Highly improbable' at all. What would be highly improbable would be Norwich and Sheffield Utd (who aren't tripe at the bottom of the league) being in the relegation zone at the end of the season. So perhaps we're now actually 20th rather than 18th.

    Kim Hellberg

Are you really saying that you would never consider hiring a manager from League One? WentToSchoolWith made a good case for Challinor (Stockport, 1st in L1) and Skabula (Lincoln, 2nd in L1), so they both have good track records, and are only 7 or 8 places below us. I have no idea if either...

    Kim Hellberg

This is a serious question to which I don't know the answer but are there any young League 1 managers who we should at least consider? I'd rather be looking there than in the 2nd division of the Portuguese league.

Patience. It's been less than 2 weeks. Norwich, Saints, Boro have taken a lot longer and are still without managers. And this forum is prepared to step in and pick the team for them if necessary.

    Kim Hellberg

If Hellberg had been appointed last time, and failed, then they would now be appointing Sheehan with the fans' blessing and a chorus of 'told you so'. It's all just a gamble taken in the knowledge that 23 teams wish us ill. It's great!

    Martin - please god, NO!!

Attendances must have reached rock bottom already.

Who was our last manager to have managerial experience in the Championship before we hired him?

Swansea City Fans Lose Faith as Alan Sheehan Faces Growing Pressure Over Poor Form

Before going any further, let's agree 2 things. Getting a point away to a team higher up the division is a good result; and (2) Charlton fans are as knowledgeable as we are, and have the benefit of being neutral when assessing us. Inspired by Pacemaker, I went to their site and couldn't believe...
