Russell Martin was frustrated not for the first time this season at a poor defensive showing as his side conceded weakly from an early corner to lose at Blackpool. His toothless and unambitious team failed to carve the home side open and create any serious opportunities in yet another miserable display...

Says it all. Creating one serious chance in 90+ minutes is not a good performance, Russ, its a piss poor performance. In case you've forgotten, the aim of football is to score more goals than the opposition.

Reminds me of when Laudrup first took over and he talked a lot about possession with purpose.

Comms were talking about 30 mins in of how Swansea had 75% possession, but I swear about 60% of that was in our own half with Blackpool not having to do anything because they were winning.

Don't think he watched the game. He must of been watching on BBC stats page punching the air as our possession moved seamlessly from 59% to 76%. I think i'll watch it there in future.

Just watched his post match interview.... I'm I the only one tired of hearing his deluded talk offensive week after week. Same old pony coming out of his trap.

I've never understood, why manager comes out with this sh!t, we lost end of. And from what I can see, we are going nowhere, fast.

I think the Americans need to have a long hard look at his position.. our possession was mostly between Grimes, Downes and Naughton.. and Downes and Grimes rarely turned their body position to play an incisive pass forward..

Martin is getting embarrassing week after week, he's got to go for me, absolutely deluded, I thought he might just be a little delusional, but after time and months of his work, he's got to go

It's easy to rack up 60%+ possession stats when the opposition goes in front and then are happy to sit back in their own half, content to let us have the ball because they know we'll do fuck all with it. It's not so bad if it's 0-0 like at West Brom because they've got an incentive to come out and attack a bit more, but in games like today passing it around at the back 500 times isn't going to get us anywhere.

I sincerely hope that what he says to the players is very different to what he says to the media.

Extremely unlikely the club will sack him this summer (bar a horror run of results between now and the end of the season), but I hope they are asking him tough questions before allowing him to continue recruitment to get us to try and play his system.

“Same old pony coming out of his trap.“

I like this a lot.
