Safety routines on flights before take off.

On a Cardiff to Glasgow flight, two businessmen got on near me, they asked did I think it would be OK if they swapped seats with each other, I said "you'd better not, it may be the only way they can identify the bodies". The air stewardess gave me a death stare :)

I've not heard of that app, I use Flight Radar 24. Is PF better do you think?
It’s been some time since I used the FR24 app. I found it a bit clunky so went in favour of PF. Is there a paid version of FR24 which gets rid of the ads?

How much for the ad free version?
Silver is US$14.99 Gold US$44.99 (both annual). I piggy back off my son's Gold so I don't know how different Silver would be, but I like FR. Guess it's just what you get used to. I believe you can pay monthly on a rolling contract but I'm not sure

Cheers, shall take a look. I think the gold version allows you to plot an interactive map of where you have been in the world, amongst other things.

Edit: I was wrong, the plotting tool must be in another app. Having had a flick through the app, I think I prefer PF, but as you say it’s probably case of what I’m used to.

What do these apps do?
If you sit in the garden, look up into the sky and like to wonder where that plane is going, then these apps can tell you. For a few quid you can get an add free version and access to some more data like altitude, airline, etc.

Sounds riveting. No honest. People pay for this?

It's very useful if you need to know whether a plane you are catching or are waiting to meet is on time.

I also like to know if my incoming flight is on time so that I know if I'm going to be delayed or not. Many taxi firms use these apps for the same reason in that they can time their arrival at an airport and don't waste time.

That’s a fair point. They are quicker at updating data than the native airline apps.
