Snoop / Brady / McElhenney

As cringey as it is, I can't help thinking that somehow this can only be a good thing for us. It's not a world I inhabit (and I'm glad about that) but you can't argue with the fact that in this day and age, this sort of thing raises your public profile and Likes = £.

The club has been stagnant for too long. We can't have it both ways. We can't complain that the previous owners didn't care, then moan or mock when the new ones are trying stuff to try and improve our revenue streams.

It's a necessary evil in the modern game. It's extremely cringe, but it shows initiative on the part of the owners, and it's bound to boost revenue and profile.

My only concern is that I don't know how quickly someone like Snoop Dogg wants to see a return on his investment, and he may become bored, or worse, frustrated with his new team if we have another middling campaign.

That post has gone out to over 110 million followers on instagram alone.

If we can capture just the smallest American market it could generate millions.

There’s already talk of a Welcome to Wrexham style documentary in the pipeline.

I’d be amazed if he actually takes that much interest in us.

I’ve surprised how much he’s already shown to be honest.

I think he probably enjoys the PR side of things with Tom Brady and Ryan Reynolds and the kudos that may give stateside.

But I doubt he’s particularly in it massively in terms of an investment.

I think it’s f**king cringing tbh, regardless of the money/exposure. My toes curled when I saw this earlier. Multi-millionaire celebs play fighting over clubs they had no idea existed until now.

Bah humbug.

On the surface it’s a bit of fun. In the background this is part of structured plan which attempts to grow the club; why would anyone be against this? We will eventually get left behind if we just maintain the status quo.

It does make sense. I’m just being a grumpy sod. 🤣
