Its since C19 Dar, Folk are losing the plot.
Less tolerance to see others points of view. Everyone is right and everyone else is wrong. People have turned into tw@s, is it anger or frustration or a combination of the two, something has happened in the last 5 years or so, and I dont like it, others have said the same, so it's not just me.
I was discussing the same subject with a colleague in work the other day, he said exactly the same, his words were that he would rather not bother anymore. I dont wish to over generalise, and there are some smashing folk on here who still have the ability to converse and debate reasonably. As an aside you've only got to look on here, and how many have disappeared, it used to be a right laugh, the fun has gone it's all very serious, sign of the times or something else, tells you everything you need to know, sad times.

I can see both sides here. On one hand I do think Darran has gone down a twitter rabbit hole and thats fair enough to cite.

But on the other the side is toxic. It’s got a lot of posters who just get kicks out of being in their tribe and yes they're mostly left wing.

I have to take long breaks from the site because i find it so toxic. We all know who they are. Love their little bubble.

While I wouldn't call this place a thriving comedy club or anything, it all seems pretty congenial to me most of the time. Perhaps that's because I tend to usually, although not always, find myself on the majority side of debates. I may feel different if the opposite was true.

I do think that most subjects are debated in a decent enough spirit. In Darran's case, almost every thread he starts (except the endearing ongoing thread about his grandson's golfing prowess) is about something negative going on in the world, or a clear fishing expedition. So his then moaning about the atmosphere on here rings a tad false.

You don't have to go a million miles from this forum to find places where dissenting opinions to the majority are given far shorter shrift.

I don’t accept that there’s an “agreed view” here. It’s just that some are better at accepting and responding to challenge and differences of opinion than others. Not aimed at anyone in particular.
