Since Swans adopted a 5-3-2 formation it seems to suit the players the Swans currently have and the fact that there are no crowds helps as it's hardly the traditional Swansea way of playing over the years.
With the transfer window open that could change and getting our better players on the park might mean a different formation but judging by the end of last season and the 2 league games so far this season results wise the Swans have done ok playing it.

Can't disagree with the home and away comparison, I agree.

We are lacking goals in the team. We need to be more adventurous at home, home should be 4/5/1 with Wingers and a no 10.

Currently we have Rodon, Guehi and Cabango as centre backs as well as Bidwell and Roberts playing as wing backs and Smith sitting.
Are we going going to bench 1 of our 3 first choice centre half's ?, if Rodon gets sold will he get replaced to keep the same formation or will the money go to get a centre forward and go to a flat back four, at the moment 5-3-2 seems to suit the players we have, although we do need to be better at home.

I like 3 at the back and see no reason why we can't recreate our successful pre-Monk style with the right players, but we need better wingback nd another 0ne or two competent CBs for it to be successful through the season.
Both Roberts and Bidwell are OK but lacking neither has true pace and neither is capable of beating a player (TBF nor are our wingers).
Roberts' crossing and picking the right pass quickly are suspect, Bidwell has a good cross but then gets stranded upfield.
Until our midfield is sorted out any opposition breaks result in the CDs being pilled out of position.
Another big problem IMO is the pedestrian build up in midfield created by having 5 in a line and often seeing Ayew and A N Other dropping back - too crowded for quick passing and no outlets for decisive through balls.
And the biggest problem Cooper will have is losing a CD player to injury or suspension - there is no one to cover. Naughton has been rushed in as an emergency but it doesn't work well.

Let's not forget that we need one centre half even if Rodon stays, Rodon goes then we need 2.

Been in this situation many times where we need a certain position strengthened, lose a player in that position and get a replacement in and then told we have it sorted..... Can see this happening again.

Works well away, but at home, we need to be much more adventurous.

I'd agree with this totally if there were crowds there but really the difference between playing at home and away at the moment shouldnt really make a difference (which the stats have backed up across the leagues since everyone returned?)

5-3-2 by default can be a very attacking formation but our issues come in adding to that a very defensive midfield mindset with Grimes/Smith/Fulton seemingly always being 2 of them and naturally defensive players

Gibbs-White seems to give us a bit more going forward from the midfield. He always seems to find space in front of the opposition defence and looks to play forward. I've been quite impressed, although it's easy to forget he's still relatively young despite a lot of experience already.

I've got an old Sony one which is very good but doesn't get much use these days. He can have that if he wants? 😎💿💿💿😎

Is there such a thing as home advantage at the moment?

Should the players spend some time training at the Liberty?

Imo yes it does, its psychological, the home team know their environment, from the pitch, stadium set up down to the dressing rooms and the travel from their homes to the ground, whereas the away team only plays at that ground once a season and the opposite applies to all I've described about the home team.

It may remain a factor, but surely it's much diminished without the fans. As they say, it's people that make a home. The Liberty I'd imagine feels more of a house than a home this season.
