AI

Most of the reason people are talking about AI at the moment is because of ChatGPT and the like. People have been fooled into thinking they're communicating with a real person, hence it passes the Turing test.

Here's the important part though, ChatGPT and the other similar systems producing art and the like aren't actually AI. They are not capable of learning or 'becoming intelligent'. So don't worry, we're not on the verge of building Skynet or anything.

The reasons to be worried are social problems as with people using them to do their homework, pass tests and the current writer's strike in the US about using them for writing purposes for entertainment (for anyone who plays video games, think how much easier/quicker/cheaper it would be for studios to write relatively unimportant dialogue for hundreds of NPC's in an open world game for example).

It's explained well here if you're interested: https://www.techradar.com/news/calm-down-folks-chatgpt-isnt-actually-an-artificial-intelligence

Completely agree with you. What could be developed in the future could be light years beyond what we're seeing now. I'm no expert on the subject, but have listened to people who are and they think we're a long way away from true AI.

Who is the fkr anyway, and why do people hate him?

If there was ever a warning about the dangers and disadvantages of AI this is it.
