• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The National is still a spectacle but very close to becoming just another national hunt race now. For the right reasons of course but still.

That's an interesting point, which I honestly never noticed till after the finish, and the amount of people kicking off on twitter/x to complain that the Grand National has now become a farce! From what I have read there were no fatalities this year, which is a great thing.

They say such things like this is not a test, wow.. And they were showing pictures of the chair back in the day, but who the ferk would really want that, I bet not the trainers, owners, or any other animal lover.

My view is, there is no need these days, to see horses lose their lives, and yeah if it becomes a stamina test on the distance, over light hurdles, so be it.

I agree with you. Except that I don’t think it’s a farce, it’s just nowhere near the spectacle it used to be. And for the reasons you’ve outlined that’s probably a good thing. Last year’s race for example was very uncomfortable to watch.

Of course Ecb, it certainly is not the spectacle it once was, which is a good thing. Why anybody would call for the old days is beyond me. I did look at one remark today that said, the only reason horses died, is because the trainers put them in the race, when they were not up to it..

I saw a picture today, I think it was from the National in the 80's the ferking fence was huge, we should never put animals through that, when their punishment if they fail is death, ferk that

It was like that up the Ferry Athletic this evening 🤣 reserve cup final Grave were playing. Probably read about it in wales online tomorrow 🙈
Yep , loved playing Neath League back in the day , Old Road final was a target .

Reports suggest drinking was involved by spectators , like me a stiffs Cup Final involved in . enjoy it as a player .

Why attend a local football game and cause nonsense , if you have issues stay away .

Probably Police were not interested anyway .
