• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Could some more enlightened person than myself explain in simple, clear language why the UK's vital, and undoubtedly lifesaving, Air Ambulance service remains outside the remit of central or devolved government funding as an agreed and essential part of the NHS?

In much the same vein why is the RNLI and Trinity House reliant on the UK publics generosity, when the Coast Guard isn't?

I don't know the answer Bryn, but imo it comes down to the same old arguments. The people say "we should have this, we want that" and for the most part the causes they support are entirely laudable.

But when a government says "ok but we need to raise taxes" there's a backlash.

Sometimes I think some people are too dull to have the vote

Cheers Legs and thanks for that. It's just the expense of running the choppers is so insignificant compared to the mainstream NHS budget it's laughable.....

I’d agree about the costs. In reality living in Wales with relatively large travelling distances between incident locations and hospital facilities etc their a god send and many lives have been saved.

...because politicians of all parties have screwed us over and thank the the Lord for those selfless and tireless volunteers and donors who keep these essential services funded.

I agree. I live in Bromley and I have supported the London Air Ambulance with a monthly contribution for years.

I just don't trust this government to spend our taxes wisely though. Look at the shambolic way they squandered millions on the failed track and trace project. Dido Harding never has been nor ever will be held properly to account.

If there were to be proper transparency and full public accountability for major government spending projects I believe the people would be more accepting of the need for tax increases.

I just see this lot as a bunch of self serving greedy individuals who don't really have the slightest idea what life is like for the majority of us.

And Johnson is the worst. He runs the country like he's head of the house at college and his only true skill is being able to use what he learned in those privileged hallowed halls to deflect debate.
