Its just to keep him quiet from divulging the truth about his puppet master Boris.

He’s had some f*cking awful personal abuse about his looks and personality the last few years, while providing a scientific service.

Well deserved.

Well deserved.

And as a civil servant he’d have never expected or wanted to be thrust into the public limelight in the way he has been, especially when forced to act as a human shield for the ministers who make the decisions.

Unfortunately I see him as Johnson’s shill, conferring legitimacy on the turd, and this is his reward. Van Tam and the woman whose name escapes me (Jenny something?) disappeared because they said what they thought, or contradicted the talking arse. Whitty has played along like a nodding dog 90% of the time.

I don’t agree with any of that although I can understand how that conclusion could be reached.

He has driven me mad with his silence and acquiescence from day 1.

His hard work and effort has included time spent on the front line of the covid wards. Many folk won’t appreciate this.

I’m going to beep beep a bit. I’m not saying he’s not a very decent bloke, and I’d rather him get it that most other bags of nowt that tend to get this reward. I do wonder if he looks back and thinks about how he might have behaved differently and promoted some different actions rather than conferring legitimacy with his silence and presence. In my view he was politicised and weaponised for a long time, and let it happen. Understandable, but not what he was there for.

Fantastic for him, he' been on a hiding to nothing since day 1. Made worse by the Prime Minister, he's had to work "under".

That's more than a fair analysis, although I do think he's been used by an inferior body in Boris, who should never still be in the position of PM.
Just goes to show how far British politics as fallen, he's laughed at in Brussels as the incompetent arse that he is, I have no doubt.
