but wasn’t the Price of Football or the Swiss Ramble (can’t remember which one) saying on scrutiny of the last published accounts that the club was basically now trading in insolvency, without player sales factored in?

And of course our club has always relied to a good extent on selling on our playing assets, but if what they said is correct that’s a worrying fact (if it is) going forwards under the current owners?

I think that's a basic reality of life in football. Most clubs live hand to mouth and survive on player sales for the most part, or if they're not surviving on them usually spend the proceeds of any they do make fairly quickly.

What's the phrase? Most people are only two missed paycheques from homelessness? For football clubs it's probably just one paycheque.

Lots of talk about the owners being prudent with their money, which I think is both more than fair to say and (agreed) for the potential best future of our club with or without them, a proper approach, but wasn’t the Price of Football or the Swiss Ramble (can’t remember which one) saying on scrutiny of the last published accounts that the club was basically now trading in insolvency, without player sales factored in?

I don't think that is unique to us mind, could be the same for many clubs at this level and even more so at the levels below.

The loss of Ayew (one of the worst bits of business this club ever did) will help that no end and we need to keep a lid on spending levels etc but not sure we are on the insolvency basis although player sales and correct investment back into playing is a good model to work with for sustainability
