I wasn’t alive for the moon landings, so I’m finding all this rather exciting. They’re now out of Earth orbit and on their way towards the moon. 🌙

(Save your conspiracy theories!)

Strapping myself into that rocket is something way out of my comfort zone; being the first person to try something doesn’t appeal to me, happy to let others go first. Fascinating science though.

The numbers are mind boggling for this mission. Artemis ll was filled with 2.6 million litres of fuel. Estimated spend on the mission $107 billion. 😲👍

I wasn't aware of the huge scale of collaboration with the European Space Agency with this mission. Just not picking that up with BBC (might have missed something). Anyway......https://www.esa.int/Science_Exploration/Human_and_Robotic_Exploration/Artemis_II_mission_begins

Neil Armstrong first stepped onto the surface of the moon on my 16th birthday in 1969. That has been an extremely fond memory and makes me feel a very , very small part of an unforgettable day.
