Iran with a nuclear arsenal is a shocking prospect, because of religious fanatism that prevents rational thought. I watched a Sky documentary many years back and it covered the mentality about 'Shahid' martyrdom mindset within Shia religion.
The programme stated an incident that happened during the Iran/Iraq war, where way too many Iranian soldiers volunteered to walk through a minefield so that they could be blown up as a means of clearing the dangerous path that was slowing up the battalions. So?.... They had to take part in a competition to do so.
The documentary said that there was bitter disappointment from the 'losers' that were prevented from stamping on landmines by their military commanders.
I guess the "Death to Israel" 'nuclear button' Iranian leadership sharing the same values as its military leadership disrupts the sleep patterns many of Israeli's? Because, Iran suffering a retaliatory nuclear strike from Israel would be viewed as (that minefield hey?) more glorious than terrifying?
