Nobody can say that the first goal was a glaring mistake. However, Benda will be disappointed with the second, and so he should. To be beaten from that distance and angle and in the position that he was, isn’t good enough.

As for the subs, I can understand why Martin did what he did. Joe Allen wasn’t in the game in the second half and fresh legs were required. Unfortunately we came up against a strong team who were able to nullify the change. A big window coming up, get it right and we will make the playoffs.

Watched it live and several times on the highlights, should have done much better with the first goal.
Somebody suggested that he has all the makings of a Premier League keeper, all about opinions I suppose but i don’t think so, let’s be honest he’s not some inexperienced youngster.

Again, if Fisher had been in goals he would have been slaughtered.

I don’t place Benda in the bracket of Premier League prospect. He’s 25 next birthday and has a lot to do if he is to realise any ambitions of making it to the top. That said some of our tactics work against him and having pressure heaped upon him won’t do the confidence any good.

Benda played like he’d been on a New Year’s bender and hadn’t recovered….

Fair play to Maatsen - he took his chances well and has real quality which you would expect from a Chelsea loan signing.

No, just a different viewpoint, which I get. Martin could still pull it out of the bag, but I don't think he does himself any favours and rubs me up the wrong way with his obvious preference of some of his favourites.

Copa is right though. Fisher would have been hung drawn and quartered for that. Benda needs to get his act together again (he did save us with the one on one after we defensively ballsed up mind.

In fairness the free kick was down to some non league standard football by Darling, the free kick was struck well, but yes Benda should have at least gotten a hand to it...

Are you referring to the pass to nowhere from Cabango ?

Don’t see how Darling could have done any different unless he took his chances on letting them through for a one on one with the keeper

Oh come on, ok let's get this straight. Fisher has been poor since he got here, Benda has been playing really well up until the last couple of games so rightly so fisher would of been battered on here. Put it like this if Benda keeps fucking up he too will start getting pelters on here don't worry about that.

Going on past performances Benda at the moment is still the better keeper but he does need to get a grip quickly for sure.

Aye, when he let Cabango's crap pass run across him instead of dealing with it 👍

Exactly they where both poor for that goal and darling had a poor game all round

The lengths some people will go to is amazing, Benda is a very ordinary keeper simple as that, he’s had his chance in the first team before and was dropped, being a candidate for player of the year at a league one club counts for nothing, again, we haven’t had a decent keeper since Fabianski.

Yes. I'm a Benda 'fanboy', was calling for him instead of Woodenman, and one of those that does think he has potential to develop into a top class goalie. 25 is nothing in that position. I'm just saying Fisher would have been hung on a spike for a similar performance. Where things differ is I'd still keep faith in Benda irrespective whereas I would drop Fisher as I don't think he has any potential to not keep horsing it up, without totally reinventing himself.
