Apart from the obvious howler I thought he had a good game today, kicking is light years ahead of woody. Keep it up son but cut out the pens.

You're a Bender, hes Benda
But agree he was fantastic today and last weekend

He made the same mistake for both goals. He chose to use his feet instead of his hands. To try and stop the shot for the first goal with his feet as he did was crazy, he'd have had a much better chance with his hands. When he gave the penalty away he should have thrown himself on the ball and covered it with chest and hands. Once again he chose his feet and attempted to tackle the attacker. He was poor today IMO, but this doesn't mean he's a poor keeper. He was today though.

Yeah, he followed the instructions to the letter and forgot about simple decision making. He’ll learn. I enjoyed the way he went about it.

Whats quicker to use when making a save by your feet at pace?
The pen was just inexperience, he shouldve stayed on his feet

Agree, except for the pen, he looks as if he can be a regular for quite a while, at least we have a keeper who can take the ball in the air at corners!

Was wondering if he'd be a bit Nordfelt-y but collected crosses well and made some great saves.
Could cover centre midfield in a push as well.

Wales Online rated him a 5/10… same as Latibeaudiere.

Just shows how clueless that bunch are.

Rome wasn't built in a day, his overall performance was excellent, this lad will get better and better in the weeks/months to come 👍

What a dreadful error for the penalty, you are not going to win many games away from home gifting goals like that.

So talk me through Grimes for the first goal.

Agree with you on that, the thread is on the goalkeeper.

I was at Ewood Park today and it certainly was an entertaining game albeit for the wrong reasons.

I’m sure Benda will improve with experience.

Let’s face it - he’s a rookie at this level and he played like one for the 2 goals.

I also think that with him venturing out of his area, there maybe a few balls lofted over his head, but it's refreshing to have a goalie who can pass a ball and who is not rooted to the goal line.
