• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Short version.

Several musicians meet up for a natter and Greg Lake says he's going to write a Xmas song, it will be his pension, played every year etc but he's stuck on the lyrics....

They said there'll be snow at Christmas
They said there'll be peace on earth

And that's it.

Other musicians are taking the piss out of him but someone I knew comes up with the next two lines......

But instead it just kept on raining
A veil of tears for the virgin birth

Fast forward a few months and one of the musicians phones friend with the news that's it's out. Friend was unaware.

"But you should get royalties for it, as you wrote some of the lyrics. Friend couldn't be bothered. If I told you his name you'd think I'm making it up, but it's there on a Bowie album. Lovely, unassuming bloke he is as well. He didn't tell me the story, someone else did.

Is anyone else sick to bloody death of the same tired old songs in shops every fckn year? I've walked out of quite a few shops when the Slade/Wizard/etc/etc sounds come on. Absolutely done to death, all of them. Miserable bastard, yes, absolutely.
