All sounds great but where is everyone going to park their cars?
It’s difficult enough now to park and Mumbles Road will be on standstill. 🤔

Yep, I usually go round the back of it all, if its busy. There's always a way, but parking can be a major bug bear.

It’s been horrendous this year for those of us living on that side. They need to get the tram back, but won’t as that requires a bit of vision.

(Meant to be a reply to Mute).

The roadworks on Mayals Road have been horrendous too!

People always jump to "where are we going to park the car" when new developments are seen. How about we actively choose to have less cars in small villages like Mumbles?

Improve the bus service and provide regular and decent links from out of town car parks. Subsidise them.

Suddenly you have more space in which to develop better things than a car park.

This. Well said JF.

Mumbles is always an area to avoid for me, to be honest. If there's a hint of good weather on a weekend or if it is the school holidays, it tends to be pandemonium down there and all along Mumbles road.

I know it's flogging a dead horse, but it would be so nice to have some kind of tram/monorail along the front linking with town...for example the new arena (ironically where the old train station used to be)...

I’m totally with you here. I live in the area and know first hand the parking situation is terrible.
I was commenting on the fact that if all the extra people were coming into Mumbles, then the parking would be so much more of a problem. I’m thinking that even if there was an improved bus service, people (visitors) wouldn’t use it anyway.
I’m definitely in favour of less vehicles in Mumbles, have you seen the traffic heading in and out during the summer?
Please don’t get me wrong, I know that I’m fortunate enough to live in the area, I’m not complaining about better facilities there, but there is going to be a new hotel where the Tivoli was, are people expected to get buses to stay there?
It’s a more difficult situation than just saying put more buses on.

When the car parks at mumbles head are turned into apartments and bought by Londoners as second homes there will be even less places to park

I'd suggest a hotel parking only car park. Charge high fees for all other car parks. Make the park and ride free and ensure there is a regular, reliable service.

Maybe I could rent out my driveway by the hour for parking. 🤔. 😜
