I know I’ve said this before but did you know that the soprano at the beginning of Rockaria was Mary Thomas from Swansea?

Also if you listen to the start of the song she fucks up for a split second and starts again but in production Lynne wanted to leave the mistake in.
Listen to it right now and you’ll never not hear it.

Didn't know that. Gutted Lynne's ill health stopped him having his final performance. Saw ELO a few years ago in their Birmingham gig. They were superb. Been a fan of Mr Lynne since the days of Traveling Wilburys. Now that was one hell of a supergroup.

Someone said a little while ago what/who band/artist would you bring back from the dead and I said the Wilburys deserve a shout.
I wonder if the three Beatles would have played together too.
I like a bit of Roy too.

This is going to age me. Roy and Wizard played in the Top Rank in the early 70s! I was there but you were no doubt not even thought of! 😀

I think I may have been there as well, was Medicine Head supporting them? I was in the Navy then training at HMS Collingwood in Fareham & was home on leave with a couple of mates. Must have been 70 - 71 as I joined my first ship not long after.

My word I think you are right. I was thinking 1973 though?

Jeff Lynne, magical songwriter and musician

Absolutely, Jeff Lynne is a genius — his songwriting and production have this timeless, magical quality that just sticks with you. Whether with ELO or his solo stuff, every track feels meticulously crafted but effortlessly catchy.
