I like the story when he turned up at Dean Saunders house when he was trying to sign him from Derby.
He was mangled by all accounts and down on his hands and knees talking about the carpet 😂

It was said by a couple of people afterwards that Saunders made it up.

At his peak, was/is the greatest ever manager. Genius.

I agree mate, what he did with the resources he had was just remarkable.

I’m sure I read somewhere that when Clough won the top flight title with Derby he only used 15 players for the whole season.

Soon after Brian Clough signed as manager for Brighton in 1973, he went down to their training ground dressed in his suit, something he rarely dressed in.

Watching them train, he noticed their centre forward trying to get past their young first team centre half (born in Swansea) with great difficulty. He then shouted in that familiar Cloughie tone, "Right son, try and stop ME getting past you with the ball"

Clough ran at him dribbling with the ball, when the young defender took out Clough and the ball, with Cloughie lying flat out in the mud!! Peter Taylor walked past the youngster and said, "On fvck kid, you shouldn't have done that"

Needless to say, that youngster soon found himself on loan at Brentford. 😁
