• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

He was coming through the Burnley ranks a few years ago, didn't our new Recruitment guy come from Burnley? Either he knows something others don't about this kid or he knows his agent very well $$$

13 goals in 26 appearances for a 22 year old midfielder would always catch the eye.
Admittedly the National League is a far cry from the Championship but if the fee is low (and his terms will likely also be low) then its worth a punt as they say

Michael Duff was the Burnley link, he managed their u18s & u23s while Ginnelly was there. Would have gone to Cheltenham around the time this lad arrived.

Doesn't look the most reliable page but this is the type of signings that we need to be looking at, it shouldn't be our only route but it's signings like this that can have a big benefit all round.

Players who have lost their way, young players from lower down the leagues with potential and players under the radar from abroad was the route we went down.......and was successful with it.

However, as we move in to day twelve of the window there’s nothing concrete and certain bar the signing this weekend of twenty two year old Chris Conn-Clarke (above). The Altrincham midfielder seems to have agreed to join the Swans but his experience has been limited to the National League and the League Of Ireland mainly. However, the Northern Ireland U21 International has found his feet at Altrincham and has had a very good season to date scoring thirteen goals from midfield. That’s in twenty five appearances. As stated his preference is midfield but he has featured a couple of times up front for his current club.

The latest is Chris Conn-Clarke agreed terms yesterday evening and will go through a medical today. If all goes well he will sign a contract until Summer 2026.

From Swansea Independent.
Replacement for Patino in that attacking midfield position with the Juventus links not going away perhaps?
In any case this is the kind of signing we used to be renowned for and while there is still no word I can find of the transfer fee I can't imagine it would be for more than a few hundred thousand plus sell on clauses.

How long has it been since we have had a genuine and consistent goalscoring threat from midfield? After Gylfi and the one good season Celina had under Potter? Paterson is phenomenally inconsistent though he has showed glimpses of attacking intent in his half season under Duff how that will translate to Williams is yet to be seen.

Having played 28 times last season in the National League, you'd think Williams was aware of him.
