What's going on? 15,000 crowd, no social distancing or masks amongst crowd or backroom staff etc..

All seems very odd indeed.

Not as odd as some of the umpiring. Someone must be on a backhander.

I'd be more worried about the ball going through the top surface before the end of day 1.

Batting last on this surface will be a minefield.

Rohit’s 161 could very well be a match winning innings.

Joe Root looks a world class spinner here, I’m a little worried how Ashwin will perform. 😳

The Indian spinners will be so excited, they won't be able to sleep tonight. 😂

Yes, even though Rahane was out (again!) shortly afterwards, it's one less review which could be costly. The stumping one looked dodgy too, didn't look like the foot was behind the line to me. Very unusual to see howlers during review.

Not neutral umpires and losing the first test. 🤔

You may be right, in any case I think England should highlight the case(s) to increase the scrutiny of decisions.

If this test goes past tea on day 4 I'll eat my contact lenses 👍

Shaping up to be a shambles. WTF was the 3rd umpire doing in not even checkin that catch? And as some have mentioned, that pitch will crumble to nothing by day 3.
Cricket in the sub continent I guess.

What's the chances of England losing in 2 days?!!
I've seen better pitches up Mynydd Newydd in the middle of September FFS.
