Cullen Watch

I thought he was superb today, I missed the Watford game but against Leicester I thought he left Key isolated against Ndidi far too often.
Today though he was everywhere, could easily have had an assist or two and his winner was excellently takn.

I've always liked him. Hard worker and actually cares for the club.

There's a reason a number of Championship clubs are genuinely sniffing around him.

Liam Cullen has been a good soldier for several seasons and is a much better player than some give him credit for, for some odd reason…….

This is what worries me. The Yanks will smell a quick buck....

When he scored in that crazy Reading away game that got us into the playoffs I could see quality in him. Some people are blind as bats sometimes.

At the end of the day that’s football, especially at our level. I suppose I’d rather see Cullen hit 25 goals and go for 25 million rather than him be just an occasional bit part player for us.

If anyone can instill belief in him it’s Duff - I see Burrows/Rodgers man management skills in him. Paterson, Darling hell even Grimes have become players you can’t leave out (well okay it would take a nuke to take Grimes off the team sheet but you get my meaning). I think we’ve got a gem of a manager here. I hope he gets the financial backing he’s earned this January window.

His contract expires at the end of the season, the stories about other interest in him are no doubt being planted by his agent during negotiations for an extension. Not that they can't be true, but Cullen and his representatives are the only people who benefit from those rumours being out in public.

Good form important because he's playing for his future at the club. Club spent big money bringing in 4 forwards to compete with him in the summer, quite a challenge to rise to.

Call me old fashioned but I think it’s important that we try to keep hold of one of our own. Obviously agent has to be sensible and Liam might need a word in his ear. Offer a two year extension with a release clause at £15m.

He's not great, in fact he's pretty crap at football, but he's got the uncanny knack in the box, for one season though he hardly done that.. so he's got to get consistent at his particular skill set
