• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Yeah, linked to the sinkhole that closed the Cwmfelin club, Welsh Water have been working on the collapsed culvert for 2 years...

All this rain is good for the garden, though, and blackberry picking will go into hyperdrive next week for the oldies. #alwayslookonthebrightsideoflife 😎

No doubt, damm I wish I’d saved an article a few years back, it was pretty interesting, about the Cwmfelin Club and the collapsed culvert.

I didn’t pay a great deal of attention, because there were some people saying that the issue with the Cwmfelin was the previous works there. It’s a few years back I read this, so may be wrong, but something about copper mining on the Cwmfelin site?

Just read a post by Peter Black the local councillor for the Cwmbrwla area, and he’s saying the flooding issue, is down to the collapsed culvert on heol y gors.
Yeah my brothers office is above where the flooding is and he told me earlier that the road has been closed for a good while down behind Sytners

I’m sure there’s some kind of dispute about who’s responsible for paying for the work between the club and WW. Today’s incident should help to focus minds.

No doubt the poop will hit the fan now. I think there’s another possible complex in this matter, sure some of the land where the problem with the collapsed culvert is owned by the Rail Network

Hmm, Reading a bit more into some come comments on this flooding in Cwmbwrla, and one person suggested is was due to multiple collapse of culverts, all to do with Burlais Brook, which I've never heard of.

Looking likely to be closed tomorrow, so plan your journeys well chaps.

Carnage everywhere today, was up near Pyle late morning pulled up to junction to get on the old Pyle rd back to Port Talbot and it was gridlocked, luckily for me even though the traffic was slow it picked up and I got moving, they shut the M4 after Pyle, Porthcawl slip roads. On top of that a Lorry had hit a bridge in North Cornelly.

Yesterday we had people swimming in it, today the ground is covered in human faeces. Who would have thought it 🤔

I was amazed to see people paddle boarding in what was effectively the contents of the local sewers, once again proving that common sense isn’t actually that common.

They’d rocked out of a Sunday afternoon sesh in the Gatehouse and whatever the Rhymbuck is called these days. I’m not sure rational thinking was top of their list of things to do. 🤣
