The big issue with getting rid of Duff is who we decide to replace him with. Get it wrong and we face a cartain relegation battle (if we aren't going to be in one anyway). Just hypothetically speaking, who do you see as a potential replacement for Duff if he does get the sack?

Nathan Jones has obviously been linked due to the Watson link, but I don't think there's many fans who would choose him if they can help it.

We've had talk of Cam Toshack before now, who hasn't had a go at senior management, so a big risk considering where the squad is at. We're not exactly looking capable of the type of football he played when in charge of the u23s.

Is someone like Gary Monk a reasonable option on a short term deal? Knows what the club is about historically, has had reasonable success in the Championship with different types of squads, could probablt get a tune out of us and see how it goes?

I'd guess the decision should theoretically be in the hands of Watson & Coleman.

I'm not saying Monk is the best we can do, just a known entity that should steady us while we do a thorough search. We can't really pay a top manager and haven't got the pull to do so, being where we are in the table.

I guess the thread was just to see if anyone had any ideas on who we should try to get, if the sacking does happen.

I don't have any names but maybe a young unknown up and coming manager from abroad

Seeing as we seem to be hell bent on an identity swap with the scumbos then we should either promote the under 21 bloke or get some random ex player in, or another hoofball dinosaur.

Who would I want? No idea - someone probably spanish or german - not Wagner - that knows how to play football. Not another English FA badgeman turd. With the people doing the picking we're likely to get another pile of shit, almost certainly no better than the Duffer.

End up with Landon Donovan innit

I’d love us, hypothetically, to unearth a Thomas Frank type acquisition from abroad that isn’t too well known, but has a bright potential and can get us safe this season, and try and get us going next season….lot of vague ideas there I know with zero substance or knowledge, but I don’t know who to really say, I think, the players really did get along with Martin, really did try to implement his plan (I know many will say what plan) but I mean they did look like they were trying their best to make his vision work, but it just didn’t, and we hear under duff that he’s a bit authoritarian, and they don’t look like they are drilled, which they are drilled obviously, but could it be a case of they’re half hearted as they aren’t into whatever it is he’s trying to do? All conjecture and rumours, but if that’s the case then a middle ground is needed in a manager that will half coddle them and not be afraid to be the authority if needed, but instils a style we can settle on and we can all at least see there’s more positives than negatives, I realise I’ve said a whole lot of nothing there 😂 but that’s what I’d like to see.
