Watched the last half hour and it was poor, thought Scotland were gong to blow it at the end. They threw it out for a drop goal and messed it up, they should have kept in tight and run the clock down. England were dire.
That's a good point well put Bryn.
Full marks to the Scots, they didn't freeze and put pressure on the English team that resulted in uncharacteristic errors.
Jonny May had a nightmare.
I think that's a bit harsh, Dicky. I really enjoyed it.
OK, it wasn't a festival of running rugby, but conditions were dreadful, and you know what England are like, they try to steamroller everybody with their outsize ugly forwards. The Scots refused to buckle, and in fact gave as good as they got. I loved that passage of play in the last ten minutes as the Scots forwards kept it tight and just kept ramming into them, ruck after ruck. You could feel the English frustration. As somebody said, the Scots throwing it back from one ruck for a drop goal was badly executed and put them under unnecessary pressure, but all in all it was a thoroughly deserved win.
