When do you think they’ll start to realise that England aren’t as good as they think they are?

Every tournament the same thing. England fans think they’re going to win it and are then are surprised when they fail.

There’s always a plethora of excuses… but maybe they’re just not that great.

This year they even have the advantage of playing every game at Wembley.

Made me laugh when they booed them off at half time and at full time after a pretty typical display, and how Grealish is now a world beating football genius. They think they are so special. They are right of course. They are ‘special’. In an exact same way that Cardiff are.

Imagine, god forbid, they ever do win something. Mind you, the way they go on, they won euro 96…didn’t they?

That made me laugh too ‘this is the anniversary of the famous night England beat Holland 4-1’. WTF. I mean really WTF.

Its the English Media building them up to be super heroes and then its biff, bash wallop when they inevitably fail, it would be pathetic if it wasn't so funny.

Still plenty of scope for them to go on and win this. Hope to Allah that they don't mind.

Pride comes before a fall and all that.

Thing is, they have the players to get to the semi finals, Kane golden boot winner, many Champions league winners and finalists, Premier league winners in their squad, but their manager is just like Cooper and Ole, too scared of losing and making subs and upsetting the big players by dropping them when they play poorly
But the worst thing is the English arrogance, that everyone else is trash and they're entitled to be a big nation and due a major tournament win, the media were saying Scotland are terrible, they're not as good as the 96 Scotland team and that they'll put 5 past them, but just like with our Welsh team, their players are proud, will fight and battle and genuinely love representing their nation... do the England players? Kane last night looked like he didn't even want to play

Almost all of what you said is absolutely spot on, guess they remember the Holland game like us fans remember the first half pounding we gave West Bromwich at the liberty, games like that live long in the memory.

Difference is though, even at our best in the Premier League (arguably under Laudrup) we never imagined we were going to win the league.
England fans are whipped up by the media ( especially the comic papers like the Mirror and the Sun ) , then when it all goes pear shaped the same "papers" come out with all the vitriol like the Graham Turner " turnip" nonsense.
Just doing it to sell their awful papers and of course the English fans get swept up in all the jingoistic nonsense

I saw nothing in that England performance, that tells me any team would be worried in playing then, it's football by numbers, sideways, backwards, no threat going forwards, no creativity. Kane was miles off it didn't look like he could be arsed, with no service either. Wrighty quite rightly slated them. Makes you wonder sometimes if the PL is the best in the world, or is it just a PR machine. Footballs coming home.😂
PS Hope I don't end up eating humble pie😀

I think the Premier League is the best league in the world(at this moment in time), 3 of the 4 European finalists were English teams
and Kane in an average Spurs squad smashed it, but somethings off with him and hes surrounded by youngesters who are maybe too green and Sterling whos been terrible for a while
the lack of leadership is also an issue, with Henderson and Maguire out, Kane is no captain, he can barely talk never mind bark orders and I've always been of the opinion defenders or midfielders are the best captains as they see more of the pitch and can be heard by everyone
England wont reach the semis, especially if they have a tough run

Englands problem isn't so much of a lack of leadership it is a lack of a playing style that the squad trains to. That gives a cohesion and a template/platform to ascend from. England plays to the tune of the media and fans...thankfully for the rest of us. Make no mistake they have some very talented individuals. A team not quite so.

I think leadership is definitely the answer DJ, all their players are understudies at their PL clubs, it's great when it's all rosey ala Croatia but when the shit hits the fan ala Scotland they are found wanting and long may it continue.

The only player that looked comfortable and willing to lead against the Scots was Tyrone Mings. That’s a helluva thing.
