The Wye by compassion is thriving, the Severn isn't far behind either, they are spate rivers and can rise to ridiculous levels which helps wash the shit out, lads on the river virtually everyday.

There is a Wye Action Group that insist that the river is dying but don't want to know when facts are presented to them and go missing when meetings are arranged, the locals who know the River don't want to know them they probably see them like those loud mouth protesters I expect.
I don't know what goes on, on the Severn.
The Avon at Evesham has fishing matches and festivals, but certain areas produce decent catches but not all, I've never been there myself, they Wye is my river of choice, the slower stretches would probably hold the pollution I'd expect, but I don't know.
Nah, I'm just a Pleasure Angler who loves to fish the Wye, the new is completed so I'm really looking forward to driving on it tomorrow and meeting up with my mate. You could ask Darran to introduce you to his friend. He also knows his stuff.
