When he was in acting school he met Dustin Hoffman, and they were voted as " the 2 actors who were less likely to succeed"

His drill sergeant in the Marines told him that" he would never make anything of himself "

Plus when he moved to New York he shared an apartment with Dustin Hoffman and Robert Duvall, and they were all told they would struggle as actors!!

So very sad, I absolutely loved him in Unforgiven, and Enemy Of The State.

Does makes you think though, how the hell did they end up in that situation? Bodies, not being discovered for that duration! 3 children, I would imagine Gene Hackman was not short of a bob or two either..

They basically died like some unknown paupers, Although a brief read earlier, it seemed they wanted the reclusive lifestyle.
