• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Probably a better managerial record than most journeymen lower league managers. His average would get you 72/73 points in a 46 game season.

I don't understand why people are dismisive of him.
Yes he was limited but effective at times.

Don’t forget, his league two/one team were much better than the current team…. apparently.

Well it was if you ignore two facts, the fact he didn’t get us promoted, and the fact that every season at least one of the promoted League One clubs become the whipping boys of the Championship, highlighting the huge step up the Championship is from League One.

Saying that, his record here was creditable, managing to pick up in excess of 70 points each time of asking, in keeping with his average. You can’t deny his contribution to our rise from the bottom. Well, you can if you’re the producer of Jack to a King, but you know what I mean.

Surely you can't just sack a manager because his team are not doing well? Whatever next?

He’s a decent manager who does better than most people give him credit for. Given the clubs he’s worked for and the resources at his disposal I’d say he’s a relatively safe pair of hands.

How old is he? He seems to have been around for ever.
