It's been a while since I went to a gig. Springsteen was the last on in Cardiff and you'd expect to pay a bit for that, but it was a 40th present from my missus, so no idea what it cost!

But fcuk me. It's just cost me £363 quid for 2 tickets to take my lad to his first concert - Sabaton and The Hu in Cardiff next year. Not far off ST prices that. Madness (not literally Madness as they must have split up by now). It's niche stuff as well, not as if they're popular.

My first gig way Maiden's Seventh Tour at Wembley Arena and it cost me about £30 with bus ticket included (and I had to save up for that)!

Why did it cost so much?

Good question. I went through viagogo, as that was being promoted on their official site. I'll look into that, cheers. It did seem ridiculously expensive.

It doesn’t seem it is. 👀

Yeah, legitimately scammed. Fkers. Avoid viagogo at all cost.

Ask for a refund.👍

Not going to be that simple unfortunately (I have and they told me no, I can only 'resell' the tickets on their site). There are dedicated consumer help sites and they've got history with trading standards. It seems like they're a dodgy as you can get while still being legal. So it's going to be a battle. Arseholes.

Kicking myself here as it was so avoidable. I'd normally shop around, but I just saw and clicked.

I was under the impression the government were shutting them done.
Obviously not.

Nah, it looks like they just got them to tweak their T&Cs. They're still allowed to be thieving bastards catching loads of gullible or lazy people like me.

I thought Viagogo were banned (or should be) as they are scalpers.

A few years ago (Darran will verify this). Tried for tickets for London Grammar (pre-sale) yet sold out in minutes. When Darran went to the gig, he said there was a block of empty seats even though the gig was sold out. It seems that this was one of the blocks viagogo bought which they could not sell as they were asking more than double the face value plus fees (£30 tickets going for over £100)..

Swansea arena posted an article on social media today saying that only buy from their box office (ATG) or ticketmaster.

Sorry to hear you were done mate but these bastards are conning people out of money and they should be closed down.

They certainly are ****s. I’ve managed to block payment, so that’s good but I expect them to kick off. Looking into it on help forums, people have been caught up for years trying to get refunds after they’ve issued fake tickets. It’s bad enough charging many times the face value, but fake tickets should see them shut down.

You may have saved me a few hundred quid as I’d probably not checked otherwise, so a huge thanks. I bet the buggers will start hounding me now though, so I’ll have to see how that all plays out.

Utter c***s. They’re as bad as those dodgy parking companies.
