• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Hi Swans,

CC fan in peace!!
Bit of local advice if you don't mind spending a few minutes to reply.

My boy is looking to buy one of the new Eco houses on the new Gwynfaen Estate near Penyrheol.
He had a look around on the weekend with his missus and their little lad and they are really keen to buy.

Is anyone on here familiar with this area on the banks of the Loughor Estuary?
Is it a good area to live i.e crime rates, schools and shops etc?

Advantages are obviously the stunning Gower Peninsula but in general is this area and the main town of Gorseinon a nice area to live?

I see that Gowerton station will also be included on the new Grand Union train route which is due to start operating in 2025, therefore rail links should be great.

Much Appreciated for any advice?

The only downside I can see is that I may have to hold off buying my grandson his first Cardiff top :D

Used to live in the Persimmon estate just beneath the new houses. That estate looks rough now but the new houses look nice.

Gower View Road is a little rough but little crime wise. It's a fairly decent area and you can walk to Asda, the Nisa and even Gowerton station. Far worse places to live
