Huddersfield Town winger Sorba Thomas has lavished praise on the Swans after the two teams played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday. The Welsh international has seen his profile rise dramatically this season with some impressive displays after joining Town from non league last January. Flynn Downes’ late...

Fair play nice comments, I think it’ll all come good soon enough.

Yeah nice comments to hear from opposing players. As for himself, hope he keeps playing well for them, thought he done alright for Wales when he played. Hopefully a big player for us in the future.

They are nice comments, but as the long suffering Jack Army knows, they are a bit wide of the mark. Yes, I'm behind the Martin project, I desperately want his style of football to succeed and it is a thing of beauty to watch when it works.
The big question is, does he have the players and resources to iron out the glaring defensive deficiencies and to make his model work consistently? Will it continue to be a 'work in progress' or will RM shrug off his label as the Poundshop Pep Guardiola?

Not yet, but it was always going to take some time and transfer windows.

If there is any truth about their being discontent in the camp, then hopefully the players have seen Sorba Thomas' comments and realise how close we are to being a very good side.

We've had the odd defensive blip in games earlier in the season (Luton springs immediately to mind) but otherwise up until fairly recently we've actually defended OK. It only seems like it's been since Bidwell lost favour that we've become really leaky, especially down that left hand side.

It has largely coincided with moving Manning from that left sided centre back position to a wingback. Everyone that we tried to take his place in that slot would always tuck in too narrow when the wingback went on the attack leaving acres of space for the opposition to attack with precious little experience defending one on one against pacey attackers and blocking crosses.

Moving Manning back to that position was a start, but we did heavily suffer with having to use Latibeaudiere as an attacking wingback though he did look better than previous appearances in that position.

Try not to be tiresome.

Why dont you like facts?

I can have an opinion too without resorting to personal insult or name calling!

What 'fact' were you pointing out in your initial post then? Cause it just reads like a dig at the poster to me.

It was a question as you know we gave away some sloppy goals against Reading due to defensive errors, and our defense made Andy Carrol look like Eusain Bolt... we have also frequently this season defended like schoolboys yet apparantly all has been well apart from at Luton?

So this was the post you were replying to:

The Reading games was on 27th November, so would count as 'fairly recently', especially as we've only played 4 games since then.

The Reading game was also the first that Bidwell was dropped for after being a regular starter previously. He hasn't played a single minute since then.

He didn't say all has been well apart from at Luton, but that we'd mainly defended OK until dropping Bidwell (backed up by our conceding 12 goals in those 5 games).

So still struggling to see the point you were trying to make.
