• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Obviously Mutey is an afficionado if this genre of music. Anyone else?

Always wanted to go to the jazz club.

Is the old Ellingtons still a pub?

I’m no aficionado Dicky. I just enjoy most types of music. Dave is the expert.
By the way if you ever wanted to come to the jazz club just message me and hopefully we can sort something out. I’m not attending at the moment due to being immuno suppressed but as soon as numbers are more favourable I’ll be going every week as previously.

Jazz sounds like a group of egomaniacs competing for attention whilst all playing different songs

I'm not a jazz fan, but I am a fan of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch novels. The LA detective lead character is a big jazz fan, particularly saxophonist Art Pepper. Mrs Pegojack has bought me few of his albums on CD in recent years and they're not half bad. Good background music.

Cue John Thompson with pudding basin haircut, black poloneck and silver medallion.
"Nice".

I’m also a fan of Bosch and very much a fan of Art Pepper. Awesome. 👍

Jazz is a group of musicians playing improvised music over a set tune. Just like any lead guitar solo in any rock song you can think of. Jazz is just a word to describe this very thing. If you like improvised sax like Pink Floyd solos or Supertramp then quite possibly and unwittingly you actually do like jazz.
Your earlier description sounds to me like you’re explaining Punk.
