• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

I also like the idea of Wales playing some matches in North Wales. Big matches in Cardiff, but when the Racecourse is fully upgraded I wouldn’t begrudge them some of the tournament qualifying matches against the less renowned international sides. It seems 90% of the time Welsh matches are played at 7.45pm in Cardiff meaning it’s a nightmare for our fans in the north to get back home after the game.

The only time I saw a game at the racecourse was for Wales 1 Austria 0 just over 50 years ago. The likes of Flynn, Yorath, Mahoney, Leighton James were playing that night and Joey Jones won his first cap. Toshack was suspended I think.
That put us top of the qualifying group for Euro 76 and I believe it’s the only time that we’ve finished top of a qualifying group.

Good Lord. I was there for that didn't realise it was that long ago. Little Arfon Griffiths scored the goal. I suspect many on here would never have heard of him. Him and Flynny in midfield made Leon seem like a Giant.

I will always remember watching on TV (1985) Wales 3 Spain 0 when Mark Hughes scored that brilliant scissor kick, at the Racecourse. I think it might have been one of those matches that they just showed the 2nd half of because there was something else on TV like Panorama. Jeepers those were the days when getting a match on live TV was awesome. The crowd was 23,400.

Their short memories are fascinating. They're donkey owner literally changed their colours a few years ago and built a stadium with red seats... they also seem to forget that the shithole is plastered with Malaysia flags🤣🤣

Absolutely. 👍🏼 The investment of 18 million pound of Council/Welsh Government money for the new stand will be made back through the multiplier effect. The amount of money Wrexham are generating for the local community is massive. A huge boost for the local economy. I personally don’t begrudge them this investment because as you are alluding to we had a whole stadium built for us by our council. Which also meant we were able to rise up the leagues and get to the Prem which enabled the City to prosper somewhat.
I do. My car is taking a bettering..money better spent on other things... More money spent on filling those pot holes.. I'm half joking 😂😂😂.. 😝😝
