Sad news decent heavyweight was Joe, he was never really liked after he beat an aging Henry Cooper.

RIP Joe Bugner.

Henry Cooper must’ve been ancient because I remember Joe Bugner fighting. It was the end of his career and he had tits rather pecs but it was a big fight.

RIP Joe. Big Swans fan.

People close to him, always said he never punched his full weight again - after boxer Ulric Regis died from brain injuries soon after losing to Bugner in March 1969!!

Many people talk about him twice going the distance with Ali - but forget he also went the distance with Joe Frazier, Ron Lyle etc

He also fought in an era (1960's/1970's) when heavyweights fought 7/8/9/10 times a year.

RIP

It was a close decision, but Joe got it, but lots thought it was a fit up, Cooper himself thought he'd won it.
