• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

So, from basically skint but keeping our heads above water self sustainably we're now linked with about £5m worth of spending, most of which would appear to be "invested" (ie borrowed).

I am not liking this.

Could all be b*llocks though, nothing concrete yet. Still got a feeling we will miss out on Lowe deal, seems similar to the Woods situation but on a smaller scale financial wise.

IF it turns out to be true though, it looks like the yanks may of got excited by how close we were last year and they may think they are closer to financial dreamland than they originally thought.

How skint were we?
Up to 2019 we showed a loss of £7 million but since then we offloaded 27 players and loaned out 15 at various levels and transferred in 4 with 7 loans (not all full season). Lost from the payroll we Wilf, Fer, Montero, Olsson, Jordan Ayew, Nordfeldt, Boston, Narsingh and Carroll (all on PL wages) and we sold on McBurnie and James for tidy sums.
While we probably aren't fully prepared for a season without parachute payments we are quite possibly close.
But I doubt we are looking to spend more, this season, than we recoup from players leaving.

That won't be hard to do. Rodon, Roberts and Celina could well all go, leaving a bit of money left over for signings, like Panzo for example, and may even incorporate Ayew's wages into it, I think he may be staying.

I'm quite sure I saw somewhere that Cooper was quoted saying we won't be spending a penny. Or at least it was suggested by Michelmore or Wathan or someone else from Wales Online or BBC Wales.

We are linked to every fecking footballer who played in Cooper's England Under 17 squad. Doesn't mean a diddly squat...

It's almost as if you can't take anything any of them say seriously in any way. Watch what they do, not what they say.

Don’t know if we have any interest in him, but he’s a good defender at only 22 years old and a left footer, had a good spell with Cov last season and is reportedly available for around 2M.

We'll go for him in another four years when we are in league 2.
