The frustrating thing about this is that the fast tracked financial breach rules only apply to the Premier League and haven't been adopted by the EFL yet. This could mean that Leicester could be found guilty but not penalized this season and still reap the rewards of the alleged financial misconduct.

Reminds me of another club (I forget who it was) who went down to the Championship, completely ignored the FFP rules and massively overspent in the Championship but got promoted. They were found guilty but the EFL didn't have the authority to penalize a Premier League team with a points deduction and they got away with it. I think the rules were changed after that but yeah.... disconnect between EFL and PL rules are nothing new and need to be better brought in alignment with each other.

These?? ...

These?? ...

Might have been.
A financial penalty was a slap on the wrist compared to a points deduction especially considering the financial rewards for promotion to the Premier League. The fine was a face saving exercise because they couldn't properly punish them.
