Are any of the complaints merely that it's sh*t?

I bet you're sitting there watching with a nice large glass of Red Paul.

My wife is officially bonkers but at least she doesn't watch that shite. We both find it excruciatingly embarrassing. Now if only I could get her to watch just 1 or 2 cooking programs instead of all of them 😭 Mind you, since the last of our kids left home a few years ago, bit by bit I've surreptitiously been converting one of our spare rooms into a sort of personal escape room from cookery programmes by kitting it out with a new TV, a freeview recorder and a dvd player on the pretext that it would be for guests. Now I can go in there any time I like, lie on the bed and watch live TV, something I've recorded or one of my many band live dvds. It's also handy as I can use it as a bedroom if I'm late back from a Swans match or a gig that's near enough not to warrant staying over so that I don't wake her up because she's not a good sleeper. Shame it doesn't have an en suite 😂😂😂

Funnily enough I was last night! Not been on wine much recently. Been on some fine Somerset farmhouse cider near my new place of work. Back down in a week or so to refill the containers!

There are several places like that within 5 miles of where I live in Somerset and there is an annual cider festival in a large orchard which becomes a makeshift campsite for a whole weekend in August just 100 metres away. Where do you get your refills?

I've just moved jobs to Bristol Vet School at Langford. It's a place called Crossman's on the road between Congresbury and the M5. Eggs and cheese too. Probably better places but I am enjoying it.

Yes, been past Crossman's quite a few times, near Puxton Park. I live about 10 miles south of Langford the other side of Cheddar. One of the highly rated cider farms near me is called Wilkins in a little place called Mudgley, worth a try if you come across it, definitely popular with the locals. http://wilkinscider.com/

Thanks. Will check it out. At the moment I am only there 25% of the time. Not sure what we will do longer term, but housing is a bit pricey!

Have you been to the farm? I went a few years ago. Parts of it look like it could collapse at anytime. Went into the barn, the old boys sat round a table playing cards, smoking roll ups drinking cider. We were ignored to begin with before being offered some samples which were pretty much half pints of cider.

The cider itself is fine but I don't think any of them have heard about food hygiene.

They got done during lockdown for continuing to operate https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-55928298

Personally I prefer this place https://richscider.co.uk/

Thanks-That's pretty easy from work. Easy enough to pick up the Crossman's as I drive past each time, but may try some bottles from there and look at the farm shop.

Yeah, I've been to Wilkins a few times and it's as old fashioned a farm as they come. Like I said, popular with the locals even when it shouldn't be apparently. I know a girl who lives at the farm and she says it has improved. Rich's is far more, er, organised and businesslike I guess you'd say, especially with their restaurant which is very popular and it's definitely a lot easier to find. I particularly like their huge cheese selection :D I drive past there several times a week, in fact I did this morning!
