• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

They’ll switch ‘em on and off enough to keep people on their toes.

If you’re on your toes driving through that stretch it would be best to have the sunroof open and your head sticking out.

I've just ordered an electric car, so surely I can do seventy on this stretch.

Can I ask how much it cost you?

I work in the nhs so I'm doing a salary sacrifice. Tesla model 3 long range, 15,000 miles pa and all expenses included (insurance, servicing, maintenance, tyres, roadside assistance).

£354 a month.

I appreciate this won't help you as you don't work in the nhs, but the same car is around £480 a month just for the car. Obviously cheaper cars like the Nissan leaf are available.

Thanks for info Banos.
My brother on law in the NHS has a top of the range Merc hybrid for roughly that amount.(salary sacrifice)

I am just wondering whether are they worth the minimum 17 grand for just a barrel load of infrastructure hassle, and no one is saving any money here are they?

To be honest, as a forty year old clinging on to his boy racer roots, I liked the 4.2 second 0-60 time, coupled with the extra range

One of the presenters on radio Wales has been trialling out an electric car.

Not for me at the moment. Imagine stopping to charge car for 25 mins and getting no charge at the end of it?🙈

Was talking to a bloke last week who’s just bought a Tesla. He didn’t tell me how much it cost to buy, but reckoned it had a range of about 350 miles and cost about £7 to refuel. He did say it took about 10 mins to recharge from about 20% up to 80%. He’d previously had a hybrid, but had to change the charging kit at his house to recharge the Tesla, it cost him around £400. Can’t remember what size power outlet etc he needed.
