Sol Campbell was Manager for 9 months, yet he is claiming £182,000. That's 20k a month.
That's ridiculous. He shouldn't have been paid that at that level.

Which is the crux of it.

Clubs have been spending beyond their means at all levels of the game for years. Covid has just mashed the accelerator down on the road to financial problems for most of them. The crash of ITV Digital should have been a wakeup call but too many of them carried on as normal.

There will be calls for most of them to be helped or bailed out but ultimately that won't solve anything. They'll just go back to doing the same again. It's going to take Armageddon before either the clubs or the league step in to enforce proper financial controls.

He was only on 5k as manager but topped it up by playing the songs and a bit of banter before kick off.

According to the BBC they owed £500k including almost £200k to the taxman and this was the 12th time the case had been heard. The guy made available a screen shot of an account with £1.1m in it, but the judge wasn’t happy and pound the club up. Feel sorry for the fans, the players and businesses that have let out.

A lot more clubs will be going down this sad road in the near future unless a cure for Covid is found

Only need two leagues of professional footballers

The rest can get more useful jobs to support their amateur careers

Would you feel the same if we were still in League 1 or 2 though?
