Potentially, if Watford up their offer, we go into next season with our options in the middle as followed.

Fulton, Gibbs White and Smith - CM
Byers and Yan - 10

Or am I missing completely obvious ones?

3 kids and 2 journeymen.

We massively need a CM with creativity and leadership. A real physical presence needed.

No you would be correct also known as up shit creek.

Probably Garner to come in but still leaves us woefully weak. As our squad now looks compared to when we felt reasonably positive about our transfers a fortnight ago

That has relegation written all over it in my humble opinion.

Can't argue. We've somehow sleep walked into this squad as well without anybody realising. It's almost quite clever in its deceit

Grimes and Ayew are keepers imo

Lose one of them and I fear we may struggle

With both fit I cant see us struggling

With pinch of luck and maybe a striker to come in, we will be in and around the top six

We’ll see what the team looks like and plays like at the end of the window.

Need to get shot of Ayew, money released could get us a couple of players.

I'd like to agree but how do we replace Ayew's contribution to the team?
If we had a manager who was tactically astute and capable of getting more out of the team than the some of it's parts (e'g' Guidolin, Potter, Rodgers or Matinez) then it would make sense, but we don't.
Replacing the outstanding Ayew with two Petersons won't benefit us.

The same Potter who failed to get a better squad to the play offs?

The grief Cooper gets on here is pretty poor.

He didn't have a better squad.
23 players out who had been playing regularly or were PL standard - some leaving as the season was about to start.
He had to rebuild the team as the season progressed with many kids coming through and being in the position where he wasn't allowed to play some names because of wage saving.
Cooper inherited a much more settled and experienced squad.
I can't think of one player Potter had who was individually strong than those available to Cooper.
And we played football I enjoyed watching.

Well we shipped 30 odd million of talent to the PL that Potter had at his disposal

It’s as if it’s Coopers fault he had to manage the loan market very well.
