• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Speaking of Whittaker, just scored a beauty against Brentford. A better player on the wing than any in our current squad. Thanks Russell/owners for that clusterfuck.
Absolutely, not sure who is more culpable.

Martin for ignoring a young, talented and hungry winger with an eye for goals
Or the former owners for the way they obviously tried to exploit him for a quick buck

If either had not screwed him over he would have still been our player I feel

Fault firmly lays with Martin for this one.

The way the lad was treated by him was appalling after we brought him back from Plymouth.

Spot on, lad.

Yet another Martin heck-up where his ego was bigger than the sum of our biggest assets. Whitts loved it down here but Martin totally destroyed his confidence and faith in our Club (in the same way Martin destroyed the confidence of our MVPs - Martin needs/craves to always be the MVP, at all costs).

This one is all on Martin, as per.

Thing is, Whittaker isn't even really a winger. More of a forward who can drift wide.

But yeah. Hopelessly mismanaged by Martin. A player of serious potential who proved that whilst out on loan, only to be treated with disdain by a manager content to at best give him the odd 5-10 minutes late on in games and out of position.

Mind you, plenty of supporters were happy to criticise him too. I've seen loads of people describe Whittaker as disinterested and lazy. Add him to the list of those who have gone on and shone elsewhere.

Martin playing him at LB against Muff away then scapegoating him was the last, last straw.

Horrendously treated by a proper wrong 'un of a manager who is always way out of his depth.

(Darling is another - treated him like his errant son, shouting and venting out at him in front of everyone in the changing room, much to the shock and horror of the players, by all accounts).

And yet some of the nonsense printed by so-called journos about Whitts is criminal.

I still couldn't get over the fact that he smashed in a hat trick in the cup (our first player to score a hat trick since Sinclair in the play off final so well over a decade) and then his reward was to rot on the bench and not see any action for over a month.
