A couple of observations from watching Match of the Day this morning. The first is that the level of football is fantastic and getting better all the time. Stating the bleedin' obvious? Maybe, but it's not just the top 6. The so called lesser clubs are playing fantastic football as well, as shown by Palace beating City at home, and Brighton coming from two down at Anfield to draw.
It's getting harder all the time for promoted Championship clubs to compete. Witness Norwich.
The other thing is the difference VAR makes. Crucial decisions at crucial moments, which fundamentally affect results. It's a big disadvantage for the Championship.

Brighton were incredible. Should have won. Palace too. I thought they’d go down with Vera. Showing how Cooper totally wasted Gallagher.

We may well see the blood soaked Toon on this league next year which should be “interesting”. All their new multi billion players getting lumps kicked out of them. I have a sneaking feeling it’ll be either Villa or Lids that’ll drop unexpectedly though.

Oh and The Eyes of Thomas Frank seem to have gone pop. Burnley out footballed them and the buzzy boys long throws. They’ll probably be back too if they don’t get enough points before Christmas. Interesting scrap all that will be.

The plight of Norwich is a very strange one as they dominate the Championship but always look completely out of their depth in the Premier League.
