Who would people like to take over the manager/head coach role if (and when) Cooper leaves?

Alan Tate?
Andy Scott?
Cameron Toshack?
Micky Flynn?
Appleton?
Chris Wilder?
Eddie Howe?
Someone else...?

Tate ...NO what expereince danger of following the Monk appointment
Andy Scott what management experience has he ? No
Cameron Toshack ....Maybe but not convinced
Michael Flynn a possibility seems to want to play good football and has got some good results but has truggled to get Newport promoted or close unlike the manager we have who most seem keen to part company with
Appleton maybe

Wilder and Howe in our wildest dreams the club cannot afford to pay their wages and I doubt if they would meet Appletons demands either

It seems they dont want to move form paying peanuts to walnuts for a manager they know....cant see them splashing out more

Toshack would seem the obvious choice, developed Mcburnie James Rodon and Roberts into first team players, although I didn’t see much of the U23s at the time I believe he was coaching them into playing good football.

It will be a manager who is willing and has worked with young players.

What a strange list... half have no Manager experience and the other price themselves out !

Didn't Flynn get Newport to the PO Final last season and unlike us were unlucky not to win IMO ? Not saying he's the best choice but could see him being on the short list.

They were just the first names that came to my head

Well Tate is the only one with no manager experience. And if the club had some ambition they would invest in a good manager.

But who knows what they're thinking, Winter hasn't exactly managed this well so far

Considering that we're a fairly attractive and competitive club in this league, it's surprising the names that always pop up, ex-players or coaches with hardly any experience. I think people are hoping that we have another Martinez moment, but we've got to be careful that we don't try to be too clever.

I see Rangel's name mentioned often and as much as I love him, what is his experience? Is it because he's Spanish?

Tosh Jr wouldn't be a surprise - I wouldn't be totally against having him, but it would still be a big step up from what he's used to.

I appreciate that it's a money thing but there really should be some half-decent coaches in the mix, we aren't a tiny club any more.

Tosh for me. Why not I say. We're not going to get a Martinez/Sousa/Rodgers, so if we're going for another raw talent with the whiff of potential why not?

Fair point.. i guess we should be an attractive proposition for a new Manager but not sure our pay structure is attractive enough and where we are located it could be a big upheaval for some to relocate.

For all of Cooper's negativity he has done well to get us 2 top 6 places and his contacts have no doubt got us there in spite of the anti-football style we have now adopted.

Coopers biggest problem now is he clearly doesn't want to be here and no doubt the owners don't want him here either if the media is to be believed where he has pimped himself to anyone who had half an interest.

I suspect we have a new Manager already in waiting hence the silence on who blinks first. Do we pay him off or des some club pay compo to us !?
Can't see any club at the moment lining Cooper up unless someone knows different !?

Whoever it is, they won't last 12 months

Who in their right mind would come here when a man who took us to the playoffs twice is quite literally hated?

Anything less than a top 6 finish will be deemed as failure and the fans will want his head
We will do well just to stay in the championship this season

If Tate got the gig then I'd be done with football for good, not even a very good coneman.
Howe would be a good fit, but wouldn't touch us with a bargepole, the only other on that list that would attract me would be Flynn.

Appleton I believe is taking some time out because of Cancer treatment?
Howe would likely have demands beyond just wages that I am confident we have no chance of meeting

Outside of something left field I think the standout candidate is Cameron Toshack and he would likely appeal to the board since he would be free to hire on with no compo
