• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I've been here 16 years and I didn't realise that was a former opera hall.

It is indeed an excellent proposition, not least that it will save an important building.
And let's face it,we need something to fill the void of all the shops that have closed, likely never to reopen, town as a shopping entity is fvcked.

All town and city centres are as shopping venues.

If Oxford Street in a London can’t keep shops open what chance is there?

The centre of town as a leisure, entertainment, food and drink centre will work really well. A sweep down to the bay and it will be like Swanselona...

Yep that's the way it's going, shop online, go to the City centres for you entertainment, it's been coming.
The Pandemic has just accelerated things by a few years.
I do feel for all the folk in retail who have lost their jobs. I don't see this new vision for town centres creating the same volume of jobs as retail did.
By the way our lovely new bridge is going up tomorrow evening, looking forward to that!

At least you won't have far to go when they arrest you for harassing celebrities
