Wealthy owners don’t seem to have done Newcastle any harm or is it easier to get around the rules in the Premier League?

Our club could easily plough in tons of money like many clubs. But as obvious as this sounds, you are not just running at a loss, and I know we are already, you are risking and betting on players sales and other factors. It's a dangerous game and has back fired on many teams. It could of backed fired on Nottingham Forest when they signed the world, and by staying in the league etc, they got around it. Leeds will need to be promoted otherwise you cannot run a club like they have, as it will eventually catch up with them. Newcastle from what I beleive are not throwing money like Man City, although they could. They are, but not as much. Do a Man City? Not many would get away with what they have.

The club is losing £400,000 a week, so I doubt if they'll be looking to lose even more any time soon.

I think we'd have to prove that the Billionaire had no links to club ownership otherwise it would be seen to be a "contrived" income. A bit like the arguments over Etihad paying over the odds to sponsor Man City.

From what I've read fans believe that it's holding them back from getting really bonkers signings. They haven't spent that massively have they? Well, if you call 125m euros a year not bonkers.

It's the PSR rules that have basically stopped Newcastle doing what City did 15 years ago (and Chelsea 20 years ago) and just buying every other team's best players.

The rules are there to protect the established order and stop that happening again - the drawbridge has been pulled up behind them. If they weren't there Newcastle would easily have won the league by now.

It's not about "protecting the game", it's pure greed from the biggest clubs flexing their power to make sure they don't drop behind, and nothing else.
