No surprise there. He’s done much better than anyone could have hoped.

YJB.

Good news, am I being a bit harsh by thinking we need better in that position? Very inconsistent imo, has games where he looks unplayable then others where he is invisible. Should have competition for his place.

Got to agree on this one, maybe that’s where the Twine rumours are coming from that we need another AM to challenge Pato given his fitness issues

That's weird because according to Andy Cole Pato was the head of a long line of players not happy with Russell and looking at their options.

Yeah, but tbh I expected him to come here to make up the numbers and he’s done far better than that so fair play to him. Decent foil for Piroe too. The days of getting the likes of Pratley and Dyer are long gone so finding a diamond in the rough is a bonus.

Increases his transfer value nicely 😉

Nah nah Mr Wilks.... I'm sure Andy Cole will congratulate Russell and the club on tying down a fine player. 👀

You are exactly right, but when he's having an invisible game shouldn't he be pulled? Doesn't happen though,
does it?

Could well do if we get O’Riley though.

Martin doesn’t seem to have much trust in his other options in that position at the mo.

How fcking tall is he now...

He does blow hot and cold but replacing him with an attacking midfielder who will improve on 8 goals and 4 assists in half a season would normally be way out of our price range.

I don't think anyone thinks he should be replaced completely, just pulled when not having a good game. When he's going to have a quiet one it usually becomes obvious quite early in the game.
